🔥 Facts Stranger Than Fiction… 🔥

You may know that a large part of Terms of Extraction (Book 6), the new spy thriller in Jack Storm’s series coming out on March 30, takes place in the Republic of Georgia.

Why Georgia?

I always aim to make my books ad accurate and truthful as possible. And since moving to Georgia, I am able to do just that.

Georgia is just next door to Russia and a few hours’ drive to the border with Iran. In fact, we see many signs around Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, showing the distance to Iran, which is 1290 km.

Then, there are a lot of facts stranger than fiction about what is happening in Georgia. Here’s one:

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards attempted to kill a prominent Israeli businessman in Tbilisi

In November of last year, five members of a hit squad from the Revolutionary Guards, Unit 400, were tasked with the assassination of an Israeli businessman. Operatives in multiple countries planned the assassination. Under Iranian direction, a Pakistani team affiliated with al-Qaeda traveled to Tbilisi to gather intelligence and prepare for the hit.

The operation was thwarted when Georgian security forces noticed the suspicious activity of a member of the Pakistani team. The State Security Service of Georgia arrested two Iranian members who were responsible for providing weapons for the assassination. They were cooperating with an arms smuggler in Turkey. The photo below shows the main team members of the foiled operation.

Doesn’t this read like one of my spy thrillers? Well, sometimes facts are stranger than fiction…
